If 80’s NYC cult band The Comateens were to have had a lost child, it would be Eraserhead. Eraserhead, aka Bodie, has been manhandling machines, instruments and software from his bedroom for some time now. Part of a small crew of friends, they all help out on the project; be it with live takes, vocals, design or remixes. Originaly born in NYC, he was sent out by his rich but discreet parents to study at Collège du Rosey in Switzerland, (also attended by Julian Casablanca from the Strokes, Diana Ross’ kids and John Lennon’s). Bodie eventually got expelled for having a slight disregard for the rules. Dropping out of school for good and skint, he started wandering around Europe (London, Paris, Switzerland). Mandrax from Shakedown met the young talent in 2005 at an afterhours joint in Switzerland and was impressed when Bodie, who was DJ’ing, told him the tune playing was one of his. Eraserhead then eventually remixed Shakedown’s Love game in 2005 after which further requests ensued from the likes of Rhinocerose and Infadels(Wall of sound). Bodie has now decided to get into the production game full time, focusing on music where his heart really lies. His first solo record will be released on Shakedown’s respected imprint Panorama in March. Eraserhead’s influences range from punky disco to techno and electronica. His sound is an analog vs digital clash, made up of catchy guitar riffs, battling quirky electro sounds and rollin’ beats. Starting with “Another Excess” Eraserhead has plenty more lined up for 2008
