During the rock’n’roll era, the hit parade was dominated by boys but there were indications that a change was coming. Brenda Lee, Connie Francis and then Dusty Springfield led the way, together with girl groups like the Shirelles and the Shangri-las. But those female singers who had only the occasional hit are also an important part of the story of women in rock - and Linda Scott is a case in point.
