The second installment of Antal Zalai's complete Bartok violin edition centers on the monumental Sonata for Solo Violin. The work is a landmark of the 20th century where contrapuntal and fugal writing, folkloristic elements, and the unique harmonic and rhythmic language of Bartok fuse into a work of intense expression.
