Led by Gary Barlow's songwriting skills (he was often referred to as the '90s version of George Michael), the band were the most successful boyband of the era in Europe. Although not the leader, one of the band members was a young, brash Robbie Williams, who was eventually kicked out because he chose to hang out with bands like Oasis and talk freely about drugs, a bad thing for a member of an influential 'teen' outfit.
