The Dark Side of the Moon Redux
Roger Waters
To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’, Roger Waters is announcing the release of his tribute to the original, titled ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux’. The idea for this reworking came to Waters while recording the stripped-down songs for the Lockdown Sessions. The looming 50th anniversary of the album prompted him to consider a fresh interpretation, both as a homage to the original work and as an opportunity to readdress the album's political and emotional messages. After discussing the idea with Gus and Sean, they decided to embark on the project. The result has been truly remarkable, and Waters is eager for everyone to experience it.
He emphasizes that 'The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux' is not meant to replace the irreplaceable original but rather serves as a way for the seventy-nine-year-old Waters to reflect on the intervening fifty years and look back at his twenty-nine-year-old self.
As a founding member, lyricist, and principal composer of Pink Floyd during the band’s most influential and creative period, Roger Waters has achieved global success and renown. He co-founded Pink Floyd in the mid-1960s and, under his guidance, the band produced a series of best-selling albums during the 1970s, including the iconic 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', 'Wish You Were Here', 'Animals', and 'The Wall'. In 1985, Waters left Pink Floyd to pursue a successful solo career.
