The Firefighter's Seamstress
J-A Slade
When I found out a friend of a friend had a room to rent cheap I was ready to snatch it up. I'd give just about anything to not live with my mother, who I loved dearly. My new landlord was even willing to rent me a second space for my seamstress business. What more could I ask for? Certainly not that my landlord be superhot and superhot, did I mention that? I also didn't expect to fall in love with the guy only to have him break my heart over and over again because he wasn't over his ex-wife. Not that I blamed him for that, he wasn't responsible for my feelings but it sure didn't stop it from hurting when he'd kiss me and be sweet then disappear because he couldn't handle his own feelings. Renting rooms in my house seemed to be my new go to for paying my mortgage. When I moved to Vernon it was just for work. I hadn't planned on staying long term, I was going to make some money, show my ex-wife that living in a city wasn't so horrible and it meant we had food on the table and a roof over our heads. Except before I left she told me she was filing for divorce so what's a guy to do? Well, he buys a house that's way too big for just him and he rents rooms out to his coworkers and their friends. Their hot, fiery, sexy friends who test my patience and my dedication to getting my marriage back on track. That is until it becomes glaringly obvious that my marriage isn't going to be repaired and I need to move on. Hopefully I haven't messed things up too terribly badly and I still have a chance at happily ever after with the one woman who could be mine for life.
