Love, Laughter, and Living
Joan Pace Kennedy
From the Foreword
The purpose of this book is to share words given the author. They evoke and elicit feelings. Some poems are short and whimsical while others are longer and thought provoking. Many use rhythm and rhyme to convey a message; some are simply words in motion.
Many of the poems included are the result of my life experiences and personal losses and blessings. They reflect the love of family, of literacy, and a personal relationship with God.
The words create a mood and appeal to the emotions. Many writings deal with self and feelings of pride, sadness, anger, happiness, and accomplishment, along with poems having a romantic flavor. Included are poems that make us smile, laugh out loud, or even cry.
There are poems that propose that old age and eventually death is nothing to be afraid of if we trust in the Lord and are optimistic. The realization of death and dying as a part of life brings other related poems.
"God has been good to me and I have been truly blessed. Whatever gift or talent I possess is a gift from God and I want to always give God the glory."
