Down for the Count
Maxine O'Callaghan
The sixth and final novel in the ground-breaking Delilah West series by Maxine O'Callaghan, a Private Eye Writers of America Lifetime Achievement Award honoree.
It's tough times for P. I. Delilah West. She kills a mass shooter at a shopping mall, is hired by a twelve year-old to find his missing Dad...and then she and her wealthy boyfriend's teenage daughter are taken hostage by a brutal kidnapper. But Delilah's troubles are only just beginning...
"The story keeps you turning pages to watch West confront the devils of crime and heart that imprison her. O'Callaghan captures a multicultural California landscape of freeways and fast food, one that reeks of money and stinks of pain and poverty." The Washington Post
"Delilah is a tough P. I. with a realistic vulnerability. her mistakes and emotional turmoil have a refreshing realism." South Florida Sun-Sentinel
"Clean, springy action and a colorful cast...best of all is the appealing, brassy and vulnerable Delilah." Publishers Weekly
