Advent may be a new concept to you, or you may have been lighting the candles every Sunday from Thanksgiving till Christmas your whole life. Either way, we hope you decided to join us on our Advent journey. This book was born in our hearts -the hearts of busy women. Our great hope and prayer is that the Father would use this little book to lead your heart to the manger. It was written for the young and the not so young - for anyone who wants to remember the true meaning of Christmas. You may be wondering how such a small book could lay claim to such a big purpose. We believe that Advent should be a season of peace, but it is difficult to find that peace under the pile of lists we make for ourselves at Christmas time. We squeeze the parties, shopping, and traditions onto our December calendar but often end up feeling like a failure when we don't finish the devotional book, read all the verses, or make all the crafts we planned. On Christmas day we sit at the manger and try to catch our breath while wondering how we even got there. So you see, this book is small because we believe the journey doesn't need to be so overwhelming. We believe the best Christmas memories are made quietly in our living rooms. In this book you will find a brief history of Advent and a simple devotional for each week of the season. You may choose to read one devotional at a time or read the whole book in one sitting.
