Living With Cats

I have read a lot of books about cats during my 70 years. Some books I have enjoyed, others I haven't. I have read some books about cat behavior I agree with, and others I don't. Some books I've read show a lot of respect for cats as intelligent creatures, and others don't. And some books that just annoyed me. One book I read recently said that the only reason a cat sits on your lap is because it's warm. This was obviously written by someone who doesn't have an appreciation for the cat. Anyone who does knows cats knows that they are very, very affectionate. If you have a good relationship with your feline housemate you will reap the benefits of the cats' love and affection. This is not a "how to" book about caring for your cat, but rather about enjoying your cats as members of your family. Nor is this a book about how to train your cat. Cats train us humans much easier than we can train them. Rather, This is a bittersweet story about my life with my cats Mimi and Giggi. It is sweet because of the unconditional love there was between our cats and my late wife and I. It is bitter because no one, whether human or our treasured cats, lives forever.
