Publisher Marketing: It's been three years since the failed Basten incursion into the Sol system and a thriving colony now exists on Earth's moon. A blend of ship building facilities and a huge subterranean mall, the moon is home to several thousand permanent residents and tourists. The Wild Mustang has been grounded there and is undergoing preventative maintenance after being in continuous service for the better part of three years. While grounded, Astra and Ian are called to the Flying Dragon for a meeting where they learn that a group of abducted humans have sent a distress call in hopes of being rescued. The call came in from deep space during the Basten engagement and was accidentally discovered by Jackie Miller. Astra is promoted to group captain and given the command of a small attack group consisting of her flag ship, the Wild Mustang and the Pegasus, Vigilant, and the Quantum, a container ship to support the long range rescue mission. On the way they make first contact with a few alien species, some friendly and some not. Once they arrive at their destination they find an alien derelict ship, unexplained containers surrounding it, and a prison colony that appears deserted. Before long the aliens show up to claim their ship and things get interesting. Hundreds of light years from home, it will take all of Astra's abilities and a little help from some new friends to save their ships and their lives.
