War in space is one thing. War against aliens with magic is something else. With the rest of the fleet occupied, Captain Hunter Solomon is sent to investigate a distress signal from a distant Federation world. A lifetime in space has taught him to tread carefully, but what he discovers is beyond anything ever encountered before. The world has been invaded by magic-wielding aliens bent on destruction.
