As a gay Black man in South Texas, Agent Peter Jennings has his own beef with the past. Their job was to keep Camille alive and keep her neighbors safe. Having failed at both, they hope solving her murder will give them absolution. But her murderer is not what they expect. As the blood flows and absolution becomes a distant dream, Astrid and Peter are caught between Justice and the demands of their job. Finding the killer was the easy part. The hard part is getting back alive.
