About the Author

Sakina Fakhruddin is a computer scientist, coder, entrepreneur, and mom. Sakina was born and raised in Kuwait, pursued further education in India and later, moved to the US in 2008. She earned her MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Sakina is an IBM Alumni and also certified to be one of the top student technologists in India by Microsoft. She is a strong advocate of promoting girls in the field of Computer Science and supports non-profit organizations like Girls Who Code and Code.org.


Sakina founded Codinu to follow her passion for education and coding; and to provide and promote an all-inclusive, fun, and collaborative environment for kids to learn to code and empower them to change the world. Sakina lives in Naperville, IL with her husband and two kids.
