Islamisation of Bosnia: Early Islamic Influence on Bosnian Society
Dzavid Haveric
Mr Haveric lives up to his chief analytical agenda of examining Islamisation of Bosnia over a seven-century time span, between the 8th and 15th century. One of key strength of this work is high standard of scholarship and of presentation. The overall argument is clear and well-presented; the knowledge of literature is impressive; and the historical documentation is thorough, showing use of variety of research media. This work is admirable and extremely interesting and has a number of strengths, especially in terms of the empirical evidence marshalled for the examination of Islamisation. /Dr Larbi Sadiki, University of Exeter, United Kingdom/Mr Haveric clearly proves that the Bosnian Muslims (Homo Bosniacus) over a thousand years produced precious culture, different languages, literature, arts, philosophy and theology, humanistic political and social philosophy and a culture of dialogue, which are part of the spiritual and cultural achievements of great civilisations. This monograph significantly contributes to dynamic and more appropriate understanding of medieval Bosnia and Bosnian Muslims./Dr Adnan Silajdzic, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Bosnia and Herzegovina/
