How Teachers Position Black Boys in Ontario's K-12 Schools Saunders M edition

This book is about how the treatment of Black boys in our modern school system is inspired by colonial times and slavery.'Zero tolerance' policies had ensured that Black boys, based on societal prejudgment of their position in society, are to be punished more often than their student counterparts from other races. In Ontario, Black boys are labelled by prejudgments of the educators who should be catering to their academic future. They are judged by educational policies that indicate that punishment or 'zerotolerance' is no longer a rule, but this modernized update to school policies has not translated to the actual experience of the Black students. This book presents a concept that is called Culturally Responsive Training - An opportunity for the Ontario educational system to implement a system that enables the school community to become more educated about the culture of the students that it is supposed to be serving.
