The Alpha-tradition

Scientists have long disagreed on the origins of Greek mythology and the works of Homer. The Analysts that once dominated these discussions never succeeded in distinguishing between multiple oral traditions in the Iliad and the Odyssey - the earliest surviving works of Greek literature - or in using them to draw conclusions about the Greek Bronze Age and the Mykenaian civilization. Until now, many attempts to recognize the right patterns in Greek mythology and ancient Greek literature have ended in failure. These include an age-old king story, a hero story, and 49 characteristics of the oral tradition. The famous Trojan War is revealed to be a myth, with a history that reaches far into the second millennium BC.
