A. W. Pink's Studies in the Scriptures - 1928-1929, Vol 4 of 17 Volumes

Pink published Studies In The Scriptures, a monthly magazine, for 33 years. The accumulated writings total over 10,000 pages before his death. Now for the first time ever, Sovereign Grace Publishers, Inc. is reproducing the entire 33 year magazine set in seventeen volumes complete with a full index in the seventeenth volume. Most volumes contain two complete years except volumes eight and nine which each contain 18 months of the magazine. Nearly all of Pinks' books now in print are taken from those magazines. He took the subjects issue by issue until he completed his writing. In his expository works, he would expound on a book for years (7 years on Hebrews alone), writing a portion each month. His Hebrews is a great compendium of all the excellent thoughts on that book of the Bible through the ages. Pink preached in many places in the world before he retired to a remote part of Scotland, where he concentrated on his monthly magazine, and taught some 100 men by mail, including Jay Green Sr., the founder of Sovereign Grace Publishers. The result is some controversial statements here and there. Questions from Andrew Fuller, Thomas Goodwin and John Brown of Edinburgh are very helpful also. It is one of Pink's strongest points, that he knew when and how to quote from other great writers. In the Lord's Prayer, Pink argues for the continued use of this form of prayer. No one can say that Pink was in any sense a ritualist. His questions from Manton, Gill, Perkins, etc. very much enhance the value of these Studies. The thoughts are pure and holy, the very kind of reading that
