Tehran Stories
Amir Marashi
Tehran Stories Introduction A hairdresser who is not what he seems; a pigeon fancier with a dark secret; a grieving mother who finds an ingenious solution to her problem: these are some of the characters in this collection of short stories set in Tehran in the period between the 1950s and the present day. In settings that range from the pre-revolutionary beau monde to the highest echelons of the armed forces to the dilemmas faced by a feminist teacher in the early days of the Revolution, these varied stories give an intriguing insight into one of the Middle East's most fascinating countries.
