Throughout the ages, the stony edifices of Egypt have weathered the sands of time. They are the tell-tale reminders of one of history's oldest civilizations. The stories that have survived the eons of decay are few, greatly limiting our full understanding of what was once Egpyt. Yet one thing is absolutely certain: In ancient Egypt, Death was an everyday part of life. The Egyptians toiled in the deadly sands of the Sahara, they relied on the unpredictability of the Nile and its crocodiles. They spent their lives laboring on the burial chambers of the pyramids, and worshipped and prayed to a host of gods who all have influence in the afterlife. As archaeologists continue to dig and discover more about Egypt, they continue to find that Egypt is truly a land made by the looming specter of death.
