A portrait of the artist as a young woman, this prose-poem by Sandra Wieser presents an extraordinarily evocative postcard to the world, from a sensitive child's younger years.
The poem's speaker walks us through memories, some perhaps eerily familiar to many of us, even if entirely personal to the writer.
Sandra's experience as a performance artist gives the writing an additional dramatic quality. And her work in the fine arts allows a childhood perspective to lace through the haunting black-and-white photographs making up the body of the book.
The mixing of the three approaches makes this offering by Ms. Wieser something of a painted poem, a thing to be paged through again and again over time.
