Leaving home is not always a walk in the park, and 17 year old David Anderson's departure from his Illinois farm home with only and eighth grade education was no exception. David left the strict mores of the old Amish order and security of his parents, and went off to work in construction at a time when most normal teenagers were getting ready for college. His inheritance was forfeited as was further contact with his family. Thus began an adventure carrying him through a series of efforts to raise himself above the bonds of early and demanding training in Amish traditions. An assortment of positions from gardener to general contractor over the years was precariously buttressed by a debilitating meth addiction. After years of struggle with conscience and his deplorable addiction, David finally was able to cast aside the guilt and uncertainty imposed on him in his youth thus eradicating the need for his drug of choice. He had what was effectively an epiphany about his relationship with God and Jesus. Here is the story of his resurrection and salvation from a life not misspent but certainly one with more than its share of tribulations.
