About the Book ?Diamond Frog,? This is the second novel in the ?Humphrey-Skinner Frog? suspense mystery series following "Leopard Frog," and featuring Burton Humphrey, retired Chief Inspector of Scotland Yard, and his brilliant research investigator, Penelope Skinner. After leaving London and the brutal senseless killing of a bank colleague, Charles Graham Bingham is bound for Sierra Leone to convert the bank?s embezzled funds into the highly sought after international commodity of illegal ?blood diamonds.? He is scot-free without attracting the slightest suspicion from law enforcement until he is forced to face the widow of his murdered colleague in the remote country of Sierra Leone. Her sole purpose and focus is to bring justice to those responsible for her husband's murder. Kimber Ellington's every move in Sierra Leone is carefully orchestrated in London by Burton Humphrey and Penelope Skinner as they attempt to stay one step ahead of their suspect. The challenge they face is to bring to justice those responsible for the murder of the bank colleague, stop the illegal diamond transaction, and turn Bingham?s high level government partners into his most feared enemies. As Burton and Penelope begin to close the net around Bingham?s operation, the unexpected comes into full view which includes covert international wire transfers of millions of pounds, an armed attack on the British Embassy in Freetown, and the very real possibility of a large scale covert assault launched against the country of Sierra Leone by the full military might of Great Britain.
