Beehive Arizona

In BEEHIVE ARIZONA, a Geologist and his wife, a successful Journalist, forsake the crime and congestion of Los Angeles in search of a "safer, more perfect" place to live. They find it in Beehive, Arizona, a small defunct mining town in southern Arizona with all the charm of a Norman Rockwell painting. What they had not bargained for is a disquieting undercurrent of misguided jingoism, a secret vein or silver and a supernatural evil that grips the minds of the town's inhabitants and reaches to the very core of the city's foundation. It is the story of a couple, lost in the middle years of their marriage, childless and with hollow success, trying to find each other and a new start in their lives. By confronting the unbelievable smallness of the "perfect American community" and exposing the sinister cult of the Brotherhood of the Bees, Laura and Kent De Salvo discover, not only a weapon against the clandestine evil that grips the town, but a rekindled passion in their relationship and a realization that "safe and perfect" are only relative terms.
