The purpose of this edited book is to explore immigration detention through a global and transnational lens. In addition to exploring the nature of immigration detention, the global aims of the book will be met in two ways: it will explore immigration detention in countries that have often been overlooked in the literature; and the volume will include chapters that are comparative in nature and deal with larger, macro issues about immigration detention ingeneral.
